Project Results
Practical, open-access tools designed to help young people and youth workers recognise early disengagement and respond constructively.
Tools Built for Impact
STAY delivers practical, open-access tools designed to help young people and youth workers recognise early disengagement and respond constructively. The project's results focus on clarity, usability, and real-life application in youth work, education, volunteering, and early employment contexts.
All STAY outputs are designed for flexibility and adaptation. Youth organisations can integrate the Handbook into training programmes, practitioners can use the Scanner alongside coaching sessions, and educators can customise activities to fit their group's needs.
Materials are available in multiple languages and both digital and printable formats to ensure accessibility for organisations of different sizes, digital capacities, and learners with varying needs.
STAY Handbook
The STAY Handbook is a practice-oriented guide for youth workers and educators working with young people. It supports professionals in understanding early signs of disengagement and provides concrete methods for addressing them through communication, boundary-setting, and reflection.
The handbook translates complex challenges around quiet quitting into clear, youth-friendly language and ready-to-use tools. It includes conversation prompts, practical exercises, session ideas, and guidance on how to support young people in articulating needs, managing expectations, and staying engaged in learning, work, or volunteering.
Designed for flexibility, the handbook can be used in workshops, one-to-one mentoring, or informal youth-work settings.
Engagement & Quiet-Quitting Risk Scanner
The Engagement & Quiet-Quitting Risk Scanner is an interactive digital self-reflection tool for young people. Through a short, accessible questionnaire, users are invited to reflect on key aspects of their experience, such as role clarity, feedback, workload, motivation, and sense of belonging.
Based on the responses, the Scanner provides personalised insights and practical suggestions that help users identify early warning signs of disengagement and consider constructive next steps.
The tool supports self-awareness, preparation for conversations with mentors or supervisors, and connection to further support. It can also be used by youth workers as a facilitation and coaching aid alongside the STAY Handbook.
How to Use These Resources
All STAY outputs are designed for flexibility and adaptation across different settings and contexts.
Youth Organisations
Integrate the Handbook into training programmes, orientation sessions, or ongoing youth work activities. Adapt the exercises to your group's specific needs and context.
Coaches & Mentors
Use the Scanner alongside coaching sessions to facilitate reflective conversations. Combine both tools to support young people in navigating transitions.
Educators
Customise activities to fit your group's needs. Materials are available in multiple languages and both digital and printable formats for maximum flexibility.
Open Access & Sustainable
STAY results are intended to be sustainable beyond the project lifetime — not locked behind paywalls, but freely shared and ready for reuse, remixing, and local adaptation by communities committed to supporting young people's engagement and wellbeing.
